The Pilgrims are one of the spiritual ancestors of the United Church of
Christ. Some years we have celebrated this history, usually on the
Sunday before Thanksgiving, by dressing as Pilgrims and holding a
service much like the Pilgrims did. There were no instuments used at a
Pilgrim service and women sat separately from men. We do, however,
usually forego the 3-hour sermon.
