Thoughts on the New Orleans Experience

There is a bond here that is knit with love, a desire
to make the world a better place. Our disparate
personalities mix and blend, adding new colors and
shading to the tie that binds us.
That which we call God is too big for a few words or
lines. It is beyond our comprehension. Yet...
We have seen the sweat stained, dirt covered faces of
Andy and David and we hear God in their voices
We have seen the dirt blackened shirts of Pat, Lara,
Randi and Meg and known the peace in their smiles.
We have heard the laughter of Anne and Dinah and Marty
and Jenell as they strained under the loads of trash
and we saw the joy of their actions
We saw Woody and Vicki and Lauren and Savanah tearing
down walls and witnessed them forgetting themselves
and becoming instruments for good.
It is in losing ourselves that we are found.
Cleanliness and Godliness are not always next to each other.
